Ameen T. Rashid Legal Consultancy is a boutique UAE focused legal practice advising family offices, corporates, founders and high net worth individuals on structuring, transactions and complex commercial matters.  We provide senior attention on every instruction and we aim to deliver advice that is clear, practical and aligned to commercial reality.

The practice is founded by British lawyer, Ameen T Rashid, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the UAE and the region. He has held two General Counsel roles and a Legal Director role leading the legal function, advising boards, C suite leadership teams and principals on complex commercial and regulatory matters. His sector experience includes healthcare and life sciences, technology and data, and private capital and investment related mandates. He is known for combining technical structuring and drafting capability with commercial judgement, discretion and speed of execution.  Ameen regularly publishes practical commentary on UAE structuring, governance, family office and healthcare relevant topics.  A link to selected articles is available at the foot of this page.​

Our work is often sensitive and time critical.  We are trusted for discretion, judgement and responsiveness, and for delivering drafting and negotiation support that is decisive rather than academic.  We operate with a strong understanding of how business is done in the UAE, including the interplay between onshore and free zone frameworks and the practical requirements of banking, counterparties and regulators.

We advise on the establishment and governance of holding and operating structures, shareholder and joint venture arrangements, private transactions, commercial contracting and regulatory alignment.  We also act as fractional general counsel for clients who require ongoing senior legal support without maintaining a full time internal legal team.

We combine boutique agility with a disciplined approach to risk, drafting and execution.  Where an instruction touches multiple jurisdictions, we coordinate with relevant foreign counsel and service providers to ensure that the overall structure and documentation is coherent and implementable.

Our approach is straightforward.  We take the time to understand the commercial objective, identify the material risks and propose a clear plan to execution.  We communicate in plain, usable terms, and we focus on producing documents and advice that can be actioned immediately.  We aim to agree scope and fees at the outset, and where appropriate we offer fixed fees or retainer based support to provide predictability.
